Shouldn’t that be one of the first things we ask our kids as they return to school?
It doesn’t matter if it was a website, a YouTube video, a book, a magazine, a theatre production, a song, a skit, a campfire story, or grandpa’s crazy rambling over supper – learning doesn’t (or at least it shouldn’t) begin and end on the first and last days of school. Learning continues throughout the year, and I for one would be interested to hear what our kids are learning when they aren’t at school.
What resonated with them? What tidbit of information did they pick up over the summer that could turn into their next research project? What fun stuff did they do on their three month vacation that you could segue into formal learning opportunities?
